Children are more susceptible towards viruses and they catch them very frequently and as a parent we will worry on why this happens for my kid. The foremost thing we need to follow is to start introducing immunity boosting foods in their diet and have a plan chalked out and regularly follow the plan to avoid infections.   • Out door activities

Children today are surrounded with technology like mobiles, play stations, Televisions, tablets and it is very important that we have a control on their technological needs, the first way to make your kid active is to make him play outdoors daily. Playing or doing activities outdoor have many advantages, kids get adapted to the outside environment, they acquire healthy bacteria which is necessary for the body and also multiplies the useful bacteria present in the body. Many researches have also found that children who play outdoors are less susceptible to infections like cold and flu. So, plan your kid to play at least 1 to 2 hours outdoors.

  • Supplements and Herbs

Two important elements to increase immunity in kids are Vitamin D and Zinc these are easily available  and are highly helpful in increasing the immunity power, for vitamin D you need to make your kid exposed to sun for at least 20 minutes, sun which rises early morning has moderate heat and kids will also enjoy the sun.  Zinc is the second important element which is important for immunity boosting, to get the required amount of Zinc you just have to include dairy products, dry fruits, legumes and pulses in daily food intake of kids, in non-veg we have oysters, red meat, chicken, salmon etc., which have zinc.

  • Sleeping Habits

Sleeping habits play an important role in kids immunity, children who sleep less than 7 hours are prone to infections more because White Blood Cells (WBC) are active highly during night time and help fight pathogens away, have a scheduled sleeping time for your kids and make sure they get adequate sleep of about 8-9 hours.

  • Home Remedies

Tulsi (basil) is a medicinal herb which is found in every household in India, This tree is planted for purifying air and also it has got some super medication properties, you can just pluck two leaves of fresh tulsi wash them and make your kid have them directly, tulsi leaves keep your kid away from seasonal cold and flu infections.

  • Honey

Honey has got some very useful antibacterial properties and is used since ages in traditional medicine. Regular intake of honey can make your kids immune power stronger and help him fight seasonal cough and cold away.

  • Establish a good Hygiene

Hygiene plays a very important role in keeping infections away, kids do not have proper knowledge of washing hands after eating or playing, we as a parent must explain how to clean the hands with soap or a scrub. Kids after playing must ensure that their hands are neatly cleaned as kids generally keep their hands in nose and mouth so, the chances of infections are high.
